Our pastors name is Darrell Elam. He lives in Jackson, Kentucky, and drives 20 miles each way to guide us in the word of God. He nutures us in our spiritual growth as a mother nutures her child. Pastor Elam is a God fearing man, but he believes that the Lord wants us to be happy. He loves to laugh and teaches his flock how not to be "mule faced Christians." If the need arises he corrects his congregation in a godly manner, not harsh, but stearnly. He loves everyone that comes through our doors and trys to make them feel welcome and loved.
Our assistant pastors name is Jeremy McKinney. Jeremy's goal is to one day pastor a church of his own. He is also our adult Sunday school teacher. He was saved at an early age and soon after called into the ministry.
Jeremy is a full time student majoring in electronics. He goes to a vocational college in Hazard, Kentucky. He does a wonderful job filling in for our senior pastor when he has to be away from his duties. We all appreciate Jeremy very much for the work he is doing for Christ.
Our youth/teen leaders are Tom and Julie Fuller. They are a wonderful young couple whom the Lord has called to teach. At the moment they have many activities and fund raisers planned for the youth group. They believe that to reach the "youth/teens" of today you have to do make the youth group fun and interesting.
Tom and Julies dream for the future is to have a gymnasium for the youth. They would also like to start a teen choir/band that could reach out to other youth in the community, churchs, schools, etc. God has given our youth leaders a vision and they walk totally in faith to see this vision come to life.
Our primary Sunday school teacher is Marcia Dickey. Her goal is to reach out to children in the early ages of life. Marcia believes that a strong Christian foundation begins with the primary age group. In her class she teaches a lesson, sings songs, has a craft for the children to do, and a snack.
Marcia strives to make her class as interesting as possible. It is nothing new to see her sitting in the floor playing games, coloring, acting out her lesson, or singing songs with the children.
